Plastics and Our Health at the 2025 Climate Action Convention

Body

In March 2025, Jeremy Greene joined the panel ‘Plastics and Our Health’ at Our Planet, Our Health: 2025 Climate Action Convention in Washington, DC. The event brought together health professionals and organisations working across climate action, public health and planetary health.

The session explored the health effects of plastic pollution, from exposure to microplastics and toxic chemicals to environmental impacts across the plastic lifecycle. Discussion also considered policies aimed at reducing plastic use, emerging alternatives, and how healthcare professionals and institutions can support wider systemic change.

Greene’s participation connected After the Single Use research with wider conversations about the relationship between plastics, human health and environmental responsibility, and the role healthcare systems can play in reducing their dependence on single-use materials.
