Anne Kveim Lie gave the plenary presentation ‘Engangsutstyr, renhet og trygghet i helsetjenesten’ — ‘Disposable Equipment, Cleanliness and Safety in Healthcare’ — at Miljø- og samfunnsansvarskonferansen 2025 in Trondheim.

The annual conference brought together healthcare leaders, clinicians and sustainability professionals from across Norway. Lie’s presentation considered the relationship between single-use equipment and established ideas about cleanliness and safety, bringing research from After the Single Use into conversation with those shaping healthcare policy and practice.

The presentation formed part of a programme addressing how hospitals can reduce their environmental impact, including discussions on the transition from disposable to reusable equipment and the comparative sustainability of single- and multiple-use products.
